Pacific Seafood CSR Report 2023

Our mission of “feeding the world the healthiest protein on the planet,” goes far beyond the nutrition label. At Pacific Seafood, the word “health” extends beneath the surface. The health of our oceans and marine resources correlates directly to the health of our business. We are committed to the health of our seafood supply, our environment, our innovation process, our communities, and our team members. And while achieving true “health” in all aspects of our business may seem like a daunting task, Pacific Seafood remains committed to achieving excellence, a term we define as “consistently doing your best and always striving to do better.” In light of the growing population and demand for healthy proteins, we have increased our sustainable seafood options - both through our aquaculture programs and sustainably wild harvested seafood - to protect fish stocks now and for years to come ensuring access for future generations. Through the dedication of our team members and vast sustainability partnerships, we are proud to contribute to the responsible management of our oceans and fisheries, while educating others on the importance of sustainable seafood. Our focus on sustainability goes beyond our seafood sourcing. We are committed to setting the industry standard for environmental responsibility through ongoing initiatives to reduce water usage, increase waste reduction, and conserve energy. Our team members made such incredible progress in conserving water that Pacific Seafood was recognized by the EPA with the 2023 Regional Pollution Prevention Award. For us, environmental responsibility and sustainability go hand-in-hand with our commitment to value creation and quality. This year, our teams found new and creative ways to appeal to the growing needs of our customers and consumers while promoting underutilized yet abundant species. In addition, our teams continue to find new ways of achieving our goal of 100% fish utilization. Through all this, our emphasis on quality did not waver but instead elevated the experience for customers and consumers. Above all, we continue to build deeper relationships in the communities where we live and serve. This year, we worked in partnership with local food banks, community organizations, and government bodies to strengthen and grow meaningful relationships while amplifying our commitment to being reliable and responsible partners. We believe that supporting the communities where we operate, and the seafood industry as a whole, is integral to our success. Our vision is to be the employer of choice in our communities. This year we executed on that vision by offering new opportunities to invest in their growth, well-being, and professional development with additional career advancement opportunities, an industry-leading 401k profit sharing, and new processes to gather honest feedback on how we as a company can improve. We are committed to creating a positive and safe work environment for our team members now and for years to come. As we reflect on our journey this past year and look ahead, the spirit of excellence continues to drive us. Pacific Seafood remains committed to finding new ways to provide the world with the healthiest protein on the planet, all while upholding the sanctity of sustainability, environmental stewardship, innovation, our community, and our team members.
