Newport is one of the busiest ports in Oregon, and Pacific Shrimp comprises much of the downtown historic Bayfront district. Given its unique location and supply of jobs, Pacific Shrimp plays an integral role in this bustling community on the banks of Yaquina Bay.
Pacific Shrimp operates year round and processes a wide variety of seafood species, including Dungeness crab, pink coldwater shrimp, numerous bottomfish species, several species of troll-caught wild salmon, albacore tuna, and Pacific whiting.
The breadth of capabilities we have at this location is the result of combining our operations with Pacific Shrimp (acquired in 1996), Depoe Bay Seafood (purchased in 2000) and the Fish Peddler’s Market and Restaurant (also 2000).
With this size and capacity, Pacific Shrimp has the operational flexibility to process whatever is landed; and has become one of the largest producers of whiting fillets on the West Coast as well as a continuous leader in groundfish, shrimp, crab, and salmon.
One of the benefits of having our own restaurant and seafood market is the ability to look into our shrimp processing room and observe every aspect of production.
