Pacific Seafood CSR Report 2023

20 SUSTAINABLE SEAFOOD ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY VALUE CREATION AND QUALITY SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITIES SUPPORTING OUR TEAM MEMBERS WORLD OCEANS DAY Pacific Seafood is committed to supporting clean and healthy waterways to aid in healthy marine life as well as access to healthy water in local communities. Since the launch of our annual World Oceans Day companywide debris pickup event in 2022, our team members have removed more than 5,700 pounds of debris from local waterways. This debris includes everything from the smallest plastics to large tires. By removing debris, our team members are decreasing the impact of microplastics in local water sources, which can be detrimental to human and animal life. According to NOAA, plastic is the most preventable type of debris found in our oceans, lakes, and rivers. While the health impacts of microplastics are still unknown, researchers estimate that the average person consumes 50,000 microplastics annually. 23 500 lbs DEBRIS COLLECTED 5,213 lbs DEBRIS COLLECTED 2022 2023 Participating Pacific Seafood locations Sourced from National Center for Biotechnology
