Pacific Seafood CSR Report 2023

27 SUSTAINABLE SEAFOOD ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY VALUE CREATION AND QUALITY SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITIES SUPPORTING OUR TEAM MEMBERS Trusted Supplier Partners Pacific Seafood’s trusted suppliers undergo rigorous screenings by our Quality Assurance Teams. Before partnering with any supplier, our QA Teams check for any food safety rejections, alerts, or recalls from the FDA or similar food safety lists in other countries. Pacific Seafood verifies our suppliers are Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) certified weekly. Each shipment also requires a Positive Release Form, which proves testing requirements that vary by species. Those requirements include: • Meeting testing standards for product type (i.e., ready-to-eat or farm-raised) • A quality assurance report with product pictures and identification labels • An assigned date code for traceability • Documentation of any required verification (e.g., Seafood Import Monitoring Program, etc.) Forced Labor Just as important as food safety, Pacific Seafood has strict moral and ethical guidelines in place against forced labor. We require our suppliers to comply with all human rights laws, including without limitation: prohibitions on child labor, slavery, and human trafficking in the countries in which we do business. We conduct random inspections at any given time to verify compliance. See page 39 for more information on human rights.
