Pacific Seafood CSR Report 2023

31 SUSTAINABLE SEAFOOD ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY VALUE CREATION AND QUALITY SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITIES SUPPORTING OUR TEAM MEMBERS TRIBAL PARTNERSHIPS Pacific Seafood is proud to partner with native tribes to provide a market for seafood harvested on tribal lands, including our Columbia River King Salmon and Columbia River Steelhead. We offer King salmon harvested by tribal fishermen who use a more than 100-year-old catch method, using fishing platforms and 25-foot-long poles. We are grateful to support this tribal tradition, while also providing the highest quality King salmon. In addition, Pacific Seafood works together with the Colville Confederated Tribes to provide Columbia River Steelhead. In 2008, Pacific Seafood purchased our aquaculture site in Nespelem, Washington and rebuilt the entire infrastructure on the water. This included modern net pens, new moorings, and a state-of-the-art camera monitoring system. We are honored to operate on Colville Confederated Tribal land and retain a tribal member hiring preference. To this day, 50% of Pacific Seafood Nespelem team members are tribal members. Pacific Seafood team members hand-delivered 600 turkeys to Nespelem residents and the surrounding areas for the holidays. Pacific Seafood worked with the Colville Confederated Tribe and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife to reintroduce salmon into the Rufus Woods Reservoir. Pacific Seafood Nespelem sponsored the Tiny Tots dance category at the Omak Stampede Indian Encampment held by the Colville Confederated Tribes.
