Pacific Seafood CSR Report 2019

When my family opened our first seafood storefront in 1941 on Powell Blvd. in Portland, Ore., my grandfather, Frank Dulcich Sr., and my father Dominic, had a clear vision: to provide fresh, quality seafood from the bounty of the Pacific. As a third-generation CEO, I’m proud to carry that vision forward and grow Pacific Seafood into a leading purveyor of fresh, quality seafood worldwide. In accordance with our company Diamond philosophy, “Consistently doing your best, and always striving to do better,” we continually challenge ourselves to find new ways to be better stewards of our environment and communities. Local fishing communities are the heart and soul of Pacific Seafood. In many instances, Pacific Seafood is one of, if not the largest private employers in our coastal communities, and that’s a responsibility we don’t take lightly. With all that our amazing team members and communities give to our company, it’s critical that we give back to them in return. This year we worked with local businesses and the Port of Tillamook Bay to champion green renewable energy projects that produce biogas to provide clean energy for thousands of homes and businesses, developed solutions to address the housing crisis for workers in Warrenton, Ore., and played a major role in securing disaster funds through the congressional appropriations process for fisherman affected by the 2015-2016 CA Dungeness crab fishery disaster. And we know that the future of our fisheries is the future of our business, so we fight hard to ensure the health of the fisheries. In 2019 we supported efforts to certify California Pink shrimp and Texas Gulf shrimp fisheries. We also collaborated with the NOAA Fisheries Science Centers, the Regional Fishery Councils, Department of Ecology, Department of Fish and Wildlife in the states where we operate, and the NOAA Fisheries Policy Division to ensure our fisheries are robust and our stocks are sustainable long into the future. Our strong aquaculture program helped to meet global seafood demand, while keeping wild fisheries healthy and stocked, allowing seafood resources to thrive for generations. I welcome you to learn more about our commitment to sustainability, food safety, the environment, and our communities by reading what follows in our third annual Corporate Social Responsibility Report. Sincerely , Frank Dulcich - President & CEO Letter from our CEO Frank Dulcich President & Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Seafood Group
