Sockeye Salmon with Soy Ginger Sauce

The popular Sockeye Salmon pairs well with soy ginger sauce for an all-family appeal. This recipe offers the easy to prepare marinade that also serves as a sauce over the broccoli and quinoa.  Serve your family something that tastes good and is good for them.

  • 2-3 Wild Sockeye Salmon portions (thawed, and chilled)
  • 1 head of fresh broccoli, cut in to spears
  • 2 cups of cooked quinoa


  • ½ cup white wine or Mirin
  • 1T soy sauce
  • 1tsp sugar
  • 1T vegetable oil
  • 1T minced garlic
  • 1T minced ginger
  • 1tsp sesame seeds


To prepare fish:

  1. Combine wine, soy and sugar.
  2. Heat a skillet on medium, add the oil, and then put in garlic and ginger.
  3. Cook 30 seconds or so, then pour in the combined liquids.
  4. Cook about 2 minutes.
  5. Transfer the marinade to a glass dish and let cool a few minutes.
  6. Add the Sockeye Salmon portions and refrigerate 20 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare and cook broccoli.

To prepare quinoa:

  1. Follow package directions.

To cook Salmon:

  1. Turn oven to broil, remove Sockeye Salmon portions from the dish and pat dry.
  2. Place on foil-lined sheet pan.
  3. Place under broiler and broil until cooked through, 5-8 minutes.
  4. In a small saucepan, bring the remaining marinade to a boil and serve the fish and broccoli.
  5. Sprinkle sesame seeds over fish and garnish with a lime wedge.
