Clackamas, Ore., May 11, 2021— Former U.S. Congressman Greg Walden (R-OR) will join Pacific Seafood’s Board of Directors effective May 2021. Walden will Chair the Board’s Government & Regulatory Affairs Committee and help guide the company’s advocacy efforts on behalf of the seafood industry and the coastal communities that it benefits.
“Greg’s passion for rural communities and proven track-record of finding workable solutions to complex problems make him a natural fit for our Board,” said Frank Dulcich, President and CEO of Pacific Seafood. “He is already intimately familiar with our business and the various agencies and regulations that impact it so will be able to immediately hit the ground running.”

Walden is a lifelong Oregonian who spent 30 years in state and federal office. He recently retired after 22 years representing eastern, central and southern Oregonians in the US Congress where he chaired the powerful Energy and Commerce Committee. Walden has a documented history of working across the aisle to find solutions and has led legislative efforts across a wide-ranging portfolio of issues including energy, technology, telecommunications, and healthcare. Before election to Congress, Walden served eight years in the Oregon House and Senate, where his state House GOP colleagues twice elected him Majority Leader.

Walden recently formed a strategic advisory firm, Alpine Advisors, with the widely-known Alpine Group – a bipartisan, bicameral government affairs consulting firm in Washington, DC. He and his wife owned and operated radio stations in Oregon for more than 20 years. He plans to bring both his business and governmental expertise to Pacific’s Board.
“Pacific Seafood is a true Oregon success story – a local, family-owned company that has become one of the leaders in its industry. I’m proud to officially join the Pacific Seafood family and look forward to finding ways to support continued investments in our rural coastal communities,” said Walden.

Walden will join Pacific’s current board, which consists of:

  • Will Rosenfeld, Principal, Rosenfeld & Co.
  • Robert Preston, Partner, Elliot Ostrander & Preston, P.C.
  • Mike Barr, President, The Commerce Bank of Oregon
  • Mike Ellis, former president of Kroger Co.
  • Lee Colan, Ph.D., Co-Founder, The L Group, Inc.
