Kumamoto Oysters were originally introduced to the West coast from Japan. “Kumos” are about 1.5 - 2.5 inches in shell length, have a very deep cup and a large meat for their size.
Our oyster farm is nestled in Humboldt Bay, California, where rich and fertile sparking waters are surrounded by beautiful California Redwoods. The bay boasts a rich ecosystem filled with shrimp, salmon, halibut, and herring that thrive in harmony with our farmed oysters.
The oysters are grown in baskets rather than longlines, which sets these oysters apart from the rest. Basket grown oysters are tumbled as the tide rolls in and out - day after day. As a result, our oysters produce a much deeper cup, allowing for a larger, more flavorful oyster for you and your family to enjoy.
