17 SUSTAINABLE SEAFOOD ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY VALUE CREATION AND QUALITY SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITIES SUPPORTING OUR TEAM MEMBERS WATER After steadily working on water reduction efforts over the past decade, conserving water has never been more important. With more than half of the states Pacific Seafood operates in experiencing drought conditions, our company took a big step towards water conservation in 2023 with the launch of a new company-wide initiative, Sustainability Saves. Sustainability Saves Pacific Seafood is committed to protecting vital resources we rely on every day. In 2023, we launched the Sustainability Saves initiative to bring awareness to the fragility of these resources and to increase behavior change among our team members. Our inaugural campaign began with a focus on water conservation. Each year, a different resource is chosen. The newly implemented Pacific Seafood Utility Dashboard tracks water, energy, and natural gas usage across all facilities and is available online for all Pacific Seafood leadership to access, as a way to track success or discover new ways to save. For our first year of the Sustainability Saves initiative, Pacific Seafood reduced water usage across all facilities by 13 million gallons.
