Penn Cove Shellfish - Pacific Seafood

Penn Cove Shellfish

Fresh from the Water – Not the Warehouse

Since the day they were established, the mission at Penn Cove Shellfish TM has been to be the premier producer and provider of the finest sustainably farmed shellfish products in the market today. Penn Cove Shellfish remains the oldest and largest mussel farm in the U.S., and their mussels have won top honors at international taste test competitions for their sweet flavor and fabulous texture. Along with delicious Penn Cove mussels, they farm Mediterranean mussels, Manila clams, and Pacific oysters.

At the present time, Penn Cove Shellfish grows and harvests approximately three million pounds of mussels per year from their two mussel farms in Washington state, one in Penn Cove on Whidbey Island, and the other in Quilcene Bay, located in the upper Hood Canal. Penn Cove also farms beautiful, tumbled Pacific oysters and Manila clams on their Samish Bay Farms. Penn Cove shellfish start out in their own hatcheries and then are raised and harvested on their farms in the pristine waters of the Puget Sound in Washington state. Never fed or fertilized, Penn Cove shellfish are given an ideal place to grow and thrive. The Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch has identified farmed mussels, clams, and oysters as “Super Green,” meaning they’re the best seafood choice for human health and their production doesn’t harm the oceans.
